FTP (File Transfer Protocol), is one of the most commonly used means of transmitting web files between a PC and a web server. With an FTP client program like FileZilla, you can establish a connection to your website hosting account and drag ‘n’ drop files or entire folders in either direction and the software itself will handle all the rest. There are several benefits of employing FTP, including the option to restart an upload/download when there is a problem with the FTP connection or the ability to create different FTP accounts. Thanks to the latter option, you can create FTP users that can access only certain folders in your hosting account, but no other folders, e-mail accounts or other information, which makes it the perfect option particularly if you need to provide a web designer with access, for instance. You can also use an FTP account with famous applications like FrontPage or Dreamweaver and upload the Internet sites that you have created straight from them, without having to resort to any 3rd-party software.

FTP Accounts in Cloud Hosting

You will be able to set up as many FTP accounts as you like with each of the Linux cloud hosting service that we offer, since we have decided not to restrict this service. In this way, you can maintain multiple sites at once or grant other people access to separate folders. Once a certain task has been fulfilled and you wouldn’t like that person to be able to access your website files anymore, you can change the password for the particular FTP account or you can simply delete that account with a couple of mouse clicks and stop worrying about anyone accessing it once again. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is offered with all shared web hosting accounts, will permit you to see the complete list of the existing FTP accounts displayed in alphabetical order. It takes only one click of the mouse to manage various options for any of them – to modify the password or the access path, to download an auto-config file, etc.

FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you host your Internet sites under a semi-dedicated server account, you will be able to set up a different FTP account for each of them, as we have not put a restriction on this functionality with any of our semi-dedicated plans. You can do this via the FTP section of our intuitive Hepsia hosting Control Panel where you can also see the full list of all the accounts that you’ve created, together with the folder that each one can connect to. If necessary, you will be able to edit the password for a certain FTP account or to modify its access path with a couple of clicks of the mouse. You can also remove an account without any effort in case you don’t need it anymore – for instance, if you have hired a developer who’s finished with the website and you don’t want them to be able to connect to your web files any longer. For convenience’s sake, we’ve made different how-to video clips, which will help you administer your FTP accounts with no effort in case you’ve never used a website hosting plan previously.

FTP Accounts in VPS Servers

The VPS server plans that we’re offering will permit you to set up an unlimited number of FTP accounts to manage the content of your sites. This is valid irrespective of which VPS plan you buy and which hosting Control Panel you pick during the registration process – DirectAdmin, Hepsia or cPanel. In any case, you will be granted FTP access to the virtual server without having to install any software, as an FTP server is an integral part of the standard software suite which comes with the VPS packages by default. You can set up one FTP account for each domain or sub-domain that you own or even separate FTP accounts for a single directory – if you want different persons to be able to connect to the web content in it with their own set of log-in credentials. With each of the offered Control Panels, setting up, deleting or modifying an FTP account will require no more than a few mouse clicks via an easy-to-navigate GUI.
